Popularity of Serviced Apartments is Growing at Docklands
The serviced apartment business at Docklands is growing with several companies running serviced apartment operations including Docklands Apartments Grand Mercure, Quest, 5 Star Docklands and Signature Docklands Serviced Apartments.

A major part of the increase in growth is the rising number of corporate offices within Docklands including Ericcson, NAB, AXA and Channel 7. These companies attract a large number of service providers, staff and other guests who prefer to be close to these companies while travelling for work.

The rising popularity and growth is also due to the unique offering of Docklands including city and harbour views, great transport access and Telstra Dome on the doorstep.

Sonia Chamings, General Manager of Docklands Apartments Grand Mercure says, “Docklands is a great base for guests to move in and out of and makes it easy for people to travel around the city. The access to and from the airport along the freeway is unsurpassed and the Southern Cross Station on Spencer Street and tram network on Harbour Esplanade means guests can travel easily whether its for shopping, sporting events or to visit a gallery or theatre.

A serviced apartment offers everything a hotel does and more particularly as most apartments are extra large and equipped with cooking and laundry facilities.

“It creates a residential experience for visitors. With the growing amenity and nearby companies, it makes Docklands a very attractive location particularly for corporate guests.

“People have endless choice including being able to buy ingredients and prepare a meal in the apartment, grab take-away or eat at one of the many restaurants located around the precinct,” Ms Chamings said.

The popularity of the apartments is due to the quality and value-for-money offering, coupled with the prime waterfront location and magnificent Melbourne city as the backdrop.
